Found: 82-Year-Old Man Was Missing On Jersey Shore

UPDATE: Leslie Shaffer has been located safe, Barnegat police said on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 19.

Police in Barnegat Township seek the public's help finding an 82-year-old resident.

Leslie Shaffer went missing on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

He is 6'1" tall, weighs 162 pounds and was possibly wearing a gray sweatsuit, police said.

Shaffer was last seen at approximately 4:15 p.m. and may be in the area of Cloverdale Park or Nautilus Drive, according to police.

He is believed to be on foot and not driving a vehicle.

Shaffer suffers from cognitive impairment.
